With the close proximity to water that these surfaces have to endure, it’s not uncommon to see them start developing cracks a lot sooner than your driveway or sidewalk would. That’s why we certainly have to put in an extra effort both in the design process and the actual concrete pouring to ensure that we create a surface that can hold up.
 
Pool Deck Design
There are a lot of things that can fall into the realm of pool deck design. Naturally one of the first things that comes to mind is drawing up the actual outline that deck is going to have around the pool. From there though, we have to think about the type of concrete that we’re going to use. A lot of people around this Vallejo area for example, love to make their concrete pool decks look like a rocky surface that can match with a waterfall that they want to add to the pool. What Type of Concrete Works Best For Pool Decks?
In a sense what may be more important than the “type of concrete” per say in this case is the thickness and the texture that we’re ultimately going to be adding to concrete that we use. We are typical fans of poured concrete for these types of surfaces. In many cases what we’re going to want to do is make sure it’s a bit thicker. To help it cope with water much better. From there, we’ll add the texture that gives the area its look and feel that you’re going for.   
 
Pool Deck Maintenance
Proper and timely pool deck maintenance can go a long way in making sure that you have a good looking pool deck for an extended period of time. We have a full process that we go through for these types of services. The process includes washing the surface thoroughly. From there, what we are going to want to do is take care of any of the cracks that we find. To finally coat the surface with sealant to make sure it keeps that shine that you like!
 
Mixing & Matching With Existing Surfaces
Obviously the pool deck that we build has to be designed as a contour of the pool itself. It’s not necessarily a full requirement to have your pool already filled up and ready to have us build a pool deck by the way. In many cases, we’re also asked to build around rose gardens, your lawn or whatever it may be. We take great pride in being able to create designs that can integrate perfectly into what’s already on the property.
